On 18 November we held the 8th CBN meeting and the final one of 2021. Our guest speaker for the evening was Ruan Beneke, the Ward Councillor for Clara Anna Fontein and adjacent areas. Ruan shared with residents the progress that has been made with council and ward projects relating to transport, infrastructure, and community safety. He highlighted future projects and also took the time to listen to residents’ questions and concerns.
As part of the CBN’s community support initiative, Wayne Allen from Tiny Owls Baby Home gave a moving presentation about their work with abandoned and neglected babies. Gerhard Cruywagen spoke to residents about the current needs of the Durbanville Kinderhuis and how residents can become more involved with their projects.
Our wine partner for the evening was Groot Phesantekraal Wines and Restaurant who presented a tasting of some of their award winnings wines and winemaker Richard Schroeder shared with residents the future plans at the farm and what to expect in 2022.
