9th CBN Meeting – CAP Accountants

On 24 February we held the 9th CBN Meeting and our guest speaker for the evening was CAF Resident Christine Du Toit from CAP Accountants.

Christine expertly unpacked the 2022 Budget Speech where she highlighted the current economic outlook and fiscal framework and then took attendees through the changes to the 2022 tax rates. It was a very informative presentation, and one we aim to keep on the annual CBN meeting calendar.

Our wine partner for the evening was Diemersfontein Wines, who presented their wines for the first time at Clara Anna Fontein. Residents enjoyed tasting their award winning wines and took advantage of the 10% discount on purchases on the night.

Mint Cafe introduced CBN attendees to Hartlief Premium Meat Products who will soon have their own fridge at the clubhouse where residents can purchase meat products and snack packs at great prices.

As part of the CBN Community Opportunity initiative, Johann Sohnge from Clara Cares gave an update on the school of skills project which has now received WC Education Department support. A site near Fisantekraal has been identified for the location of the school and a project and fundraising plan can now be put in place. 

Rob Mason from LIV Cape Town and Wayne Allen from Tiny Owls Baby Home introduced their organisations to new CBN attendees. As part of their fundraising efforts this year they are currently planning a fundraising golf day called the 4TheChildren Annual Charity Golf Day on 27 May at Durbanville Golf Club.
